Description
Welded from 17 fragments and completed. The body is hemispherical, without a shaped base. The lip has a sigmoid contour, which becomes convex at the end. The body decoration develops in a single band and is separated from the rim by a shallow groove. The medal is decorated with an eight-pointed "Macedonian" star. The body is divided into elongated decorative bands, which emerge from the medal and end at the rim with a strongly spiraling direction. The decorative bands are defined by a border of thin striations and their interior is filled with a series of circular bead-beads, or small oblique lines. Two of the long narrow divisions are shaped as thin straight branches with fern leaves in the Ichthyacantha type. A strong influence of ancient Macedonian workshops is recognized in the decoration of the vase.
