Description

Among the few findings we have so far for the early Christian settlement of Dodoni, we include the small buckle as well as the four bracelets we found in the Karapanos Collection at the National Archaeological Museum. It is a small copper buckle with a stem decorated with a pierced cross and five also copper bracelets with various incised decoration. The belt buckle remains intact. It is a probably male dress accessory that has a horseshoe-shaped perforated body and a rectangular connate ring that retains the triangular tongue. An isosceles cross is formed in the perforated body of the buckle, while at the end of the body there is a small process. The buckle is mainly decorated with impressed small circles.
