Description

Unpainted lamp decorated with the mythological theme of the abduction of Ganymede by Zeus transformed into an eagle. Welded and filled with plaster. The disc (the upper surface) of the lamp houses the central representation: Ganymede is depicted naked from below, with his head, on which he wears a Phrygian turban, turned to the right and his gaze towards the eagle. The outstretched left leg treads on the ground, the bent right leg seems to be resting on some natural outcrop, but which is not stated. His left hand is raised and rests on the eagle's wing. The eagle in front with open wings turns its head towards Ganymede. Behind the eagle is a tree. On the circumference of the shoulder (the transition from the disc to the vertical walls of the vessel) central groove decorated with a band of crosses from embossed moments and rectangular plastic fittings on the transverse axis.
