Pectoral wings of a bronze statue

Pectoral wings of a bronze statue

Origin

Dodoni, Ioannina

Period

Late 4th century BC

Material

Copper

Description

The plinths of the statues that have been preserved in place in front of the portico allow us to imagine a dance of sculptures that would sparkle with the coating of copper and compose a copper-crowned mosque. Wings from the leather breastplate of the omen general help us to partially reconstruct the original image of the monumental bronze andriands.
