Description

Welded from six fragments and completed in the upper part of the body and a large part of the rim. The body of the vessel is hemispherical, without a shaped base and is separated from the rim by a double groove. The lip is convex and bends inwards. The decoration is developed in two zones, a narrow zone one centimeter high, below the rim, and the main zone of the body that reaches the medal. The decoration of the mine, much worn, probably consisted of four leaves, perhaps acanthus, in a cruciform arrangement. The body is covered by eleven rows of overlapping small lotus leaves, printed in reverse. The decorative band of the rim is decorated with a laurel wreath, shaped by small lotus leaves. The vase can be attributed with relative certainty to the production of the Kassopi workshops.
